Equifin Incorporated is an audit and accounting firm with offices in Pretoria. We differentiate ourselves in the field of auditing, accounting and taxation services through a strong consciousness of the role played in the success of our clients, our employees and society.

GERHARD SWART CA (SA) RA

Gerhard joined ICS (Imperial Cold Storage), a division of the Barlows Group, after completing his articles. As a divisional financial accountant and financial manager, he gained valuable business experience at this well-known Group but decided to pursue his career in public practice in 1996.

He was a founding member of Equifin Incorporated, which was formed in 2000.

Primary responsibilities in the firm
His primary responsibilities as a director include the implementation and monitoring of quality, acting as a training officer and the performance of external audits of a wide range of clients in different types of industries.

Professional Experience
Gerhard has varied experience in internal auditing, external auditing and other disciplines, which includes: financial accounting, financial management, share valuations and taxation. He further gained valuable experience in the preparation of annual financial statements in terms of IFRS and IFRS for SME’s.

Other professional activities
Gerhard acts as the Quality Control Partner of Equifin Incorporated, and as the Training Officer, he is actively involved in the training, development and assessment of trainee Chartered Accountants.

Jaco Kruger

JACO KRUGER CA (SA) RA

Jaco qualified as a chartered accountant in 1998 after the successful completion of his articles. Jaco is one of the founder members of Equifin Incorporated, which was established in Jan 2000. Jaco gained valuable experience in his field of expertise and is respected by his colleagues and clients.

Primary responsibilities in the firm
Jaco acts as the engagement partner for a wide range of clients in different types of industries. He is further involved in the implementation and monitoring of quality and also acts as the Financial Director of Equifin Incorporated.

Professional Experience
Jaco Kruger has varied experience in external auditing and financial accounting, together with other disciplines, which include: financial management, group restructurings and taxation. He is also involved in the preparation of annual financial statements in terms of IFRS and IFRS for SME’s.

Other professional activities
Jaco is actively involved in the training and developing of trainee accountants and other professional staff.

Altea Blignaut

ALTEA BLIGNAUT CA (SA) RA

Altea Blignaut joined Equifin in January 2013 as a Trainee Accountant and became part of the management team after completing her SAICA articles in December 2015. As audit manager from January 2016 to November 2018, Altea has been instrumental in energizing and adding value in terms of her extensive effort, planning and involvement in the audits she participated in.

Altea was appointed as director of Equifin Incorporated in December 2018.

Primary responsibilities in the firm
Her primary responsibilities as head of audit include the implementation and monitoring of quality and compliance in the execution and management of auditing and accounting services while applying tried and tested methodologies and practices.

Professional Experience
Altea has various experience in private and state-owned audits and other disciplines, which includes: financial accounting, financial management and taxation. She further gained valuable experience in the preparation of annual financial statements in terms of IFRS and IFRS for SME’s.

Other professional activities
Altea is a registered assessor and is actively involved in the training, developing and assessing trainee Chartered Accountants.

Pieter Steyn

PROFILE

PIETER STEYN

Pieter completed his articles with Equifin Incorporated. He served as a financial accounting manager for 2 years before being appointed director in January 2006.

Primary responsibilities in the firm
His primary responsibilities as director include technical support to the firm with regard to financial accounting work, taxation, and implementation of internal control procedures for a wide range of clients in different types of industries. He is also responsible for the appointment, training and evaluation of SAIPA trainees in the firm.

Professional Experience
He is involved in advising and rendering financial services and tax compliance for clients. Financial services to clients include the processing of all transactions up to Financial Statements, payroll and management reports monthly.

Compilation of Financial Statements.
He is further involved in implementing and consulting on internal control systems in a business.
